Future Space, 2018
studio ASYNCHROME

Bildunterschrift

The Graz-based artist duo studio ASYNCHROME envision spaces for our future in the form of drawings. Their large-scale charcoal drawing Future Space is shown parallel to the main subject of SHOWING STYRIA – what will be at the Kunsthaus Graz on the banner and refers to the search for traces of our future in the here and now. In front of a huge globe, children balance over an abyss, asking themselves whether we will one day make the unimaginable our own; in the background, we see people busy researching in a vast library. Like the exhibition itself, the drawing shows that tracing future approaches to our finite planet Earth calls for not only many different voices, but also the childlike courage to explore new paths. Without losing our balance.
