VPZ GmbH works closely with researchers, designers and customers to develop alternatives to conventional packaging. The company seeks to combine economic thinking with ecological action. Agri-cultural and industrial waste from food production and the wood and paper industries are used for biopolymers. The films, coatings, moulded parts and containers are made and processed with the same machines that produce conventional plastics. For several years now they have been conducting research into algae as the basis for an environmentally friendly foam. In the PACKNATUR® business sector the company achieved a market breakthrough with cellulose netting tubes made from LENZING™ Modal COLOR fibre. These tubes are 100 % bio-based and compostable.
