Gaisbacher spent several weeks in Stanz reflecting from an artistic perspective on a successful participation project initiated in 2016 as part of a local revitalisation. In the process she followed her interest in the socio-spatial structure of architecture, city and countryside. Gaisbacher asked seven people to select a (private) archive photo from recent years and to formulate a few sentences about their choice. In a number of video scenes, she gives an insight into current local life. In this way she takes a look at both the past and the present of the community of Stanz. As in her other works, the artist not only approaches the village from different media perspectives, but also relates her own observations to those of the people of Stanz. The Stanz ‘Mitfahr-Bankerl’ – a bench where people can wait for shared car rides – will be on display during SHOWING STYRIA at the Kunsthaus Graz. In reciprocation, a pink table and seat set from the Kunsthaus Graz has been transferred to the Mürztal municipality.
