The daily work routine of many companies is filled with monotonous tasks that are necessary but take up a lot of time. The young start-up company AnyConcept is developing automation software that can perform these processes autonomously on a PC. The AI technology behind this software is called reinforcement learning – the algorithm ‘observes’ and ‘understands’ through positive confirmation and negative feedback. In practice, the software registers inputs, for example in word processing programs, web interfaces or Excel spreadsheets. After several runs through the same work processes, they can finally be automated and executed independently. The ‘digital intern’ is intended to serve the emerging market for simple automation. Larger companies, banks, insurance companies and the telecommunications industry have shown interest. A finished product is expected by the end of 2022.

New Order (Hole Hilfe! und Es dreht sich um dich!), 2008
